Why Do You Hate Me? | BBC News on iPlayer

Film series created for BBC, Why Do You Hate Me? follows Disinformation and Social Media Correspondent Marianna Spring as she investigates extraordinary cases of online hate.

The stories exist entirely in the digital realm, and the visual treatment reflected that, incorporating glitches, pixels, and emojis to capture the chaotic, fast-moving nature of online content. The challenge was to organise this overwhelming material into sequences that were clear, engaging, and responsible, while maintaining the energy and immediacy of the internet.

Originally launched as a six-part series, the programme continues to explore online abuse with rigor and clarity. Watch the whole film here.
