The End of the World: A News Montage
Occasionally I work in the world of rolling news, a fast-paced environment where multiple major stories can pass through the edit in rapid succession. During particularly intense periods, I like to assemble short montages of the coverage as a way of stepping back and seeing the wider picture behind the daily rush.
This sequence brings together a run of stories including the Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey interview, debates around Covid-19 vaccine hesitancy, the global shift to working from home, and the wider impact of the pandemic on international supply chains. The period was punctuated by Nigel Farage’s final appearance in the European Parliament, marking the moment by waving a Union Jack in defiance of chamber rules.
A brief snapshot of a time when the news cycle felt relentless, unpredictable, and at times historic.
