The Corporate Takeover of Space | The Guardian
Film created for the The Guardian series It’s Complicated, exploring how Luxembourg, one of the world’s smallest nations, positioned itself at the forefront of asteroid mining and the wider space economy. The piece examines the legal, ethical, and environmental questions surrounding the extraction of resources from space, asking whether a future “gold rush” beyond Earth is realistic or sustainable.
Working within the established visual guidelines of the channel, the design drew inspiration from archival footage from the early era of space exploration.
The graphics adopted a subtle retro influence, celebrating the typography and layout of historic documents while echoing the visual texture of early space-programme footage. Watch the whole film here.
